The successful candidate will have the responsibility and accountability for the full employee life cycle and will be involved in all areas of the Human Resources function.

Our HR team is busy and no two days are the same. As such, you will need to be able to work well under pressure and be able to manage a busy workload, ensuring you deliver the best possible service to colleagues while doing so. Given the nature of the role, being able to deal with sensitive matters emphatically and confidentially is of paramount importance.

While no prior experience is necessary as all training will be given, this role would suit someone with an interest in HR and all things 'people.' Your degree may have a heavy 'people' component and you find yourself fascinated by what makes people tick. Perhaps you have had a social secretary role in society and loved the chance to work with a diverse group of people or have experience in coaching or a teaching role. Regardless of your background, you will be an effective relationship builder and have excellent interpersonal skills.

There is no typical day in the life of an HR Officer, but you may find yourself; leading during our busy recruitment period; holding interviews and ensuring that we get the best possible members; delivering our training programme to our project teams and/or dealing with employee relations cases as they arise. If you enjoy getting stuck in and have a varied workload, then this is the role for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to HR related queries as a first-line advisor to colleagues across the organisation, delivering advice on policies and practises
  • Supporting and role modelling our commitment to diversity and Inclusion
  • Planning, organising and delivering our weekly skills sessions
  • These are invaluable for the professional development of our project teams
  • Supporting department heads and recruiting managers with all aspects of recruitment, to provide a great candidate experience from initial vacancy to on-boarding
  • Proactively manage both formal and informal ER cases and work collaboratively to provide support up to final warning levels
  • Provide effective and timely wellbeing support, effectively signposting colleagues to relevant to appropriate support
  • Any such requests deemed appropriate by the head of department
